Yes, it's pretty common to feel overwhelmed by life's demands. It's easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget what it's like to be joyful. But believe me when I say that if you can find some serenity in your life, anything is possible.
I used to be in the same situation. To get out of those ruts, all I needed was a jolt. But finding calm was life-changing. It taught me that living happily does not mean you will never have issues, but how you handle them makes all the difference.
When I'm distracted by what I see around me, I try to reevaluate my thoughts and determine if they are valuable to me.
Then I realized that the majority of my concerns are unimportant.

I immediately set out to find new activities that I could love. Things include planting my own vegetable patch, spending time in the woods, reading a book of any kind that piques my interest, or spending uninterrupted time with my son.
I can't help but smile when I ponder these things. That is when I realized I had finally discovered the serenity I had been yearning for so long.
So, what do you have to lose? Turn off your phone's notifications, put your devices away for an hour or two, and get out there and enjoy your favorite drink. Spending time alone with one's thoughts may be the most valuable present you can give yourself.
